Who are the prophets?
Have no idols
Through this short story, Jonah has shown himself unwilling to accept God on His own terms.
I know better than God
Jonah has survived a terrible threat of death twice: once in the sea, and once in Assyria.
Taming a beast
Jonah was swallowed by a great fish, and survived by God’s kindness. Now he’s swallowed by a greater monster
Near death experience
Jonah is drowning. He cries to the Lord. The Lord saves him miraculously.
Not quite Jesus
Jonah is a rebel against God’s call. But God uses the horror of what happens to the prophet to testify to Himself
