Hebrews 2:5-11
For the Christian dissatisfaction with ourselves and this world is a signpost to the better world for which we have been saved. To encourage his hearers, the writer of Hebrews mentions that coming world. There we shall rise up to the highest place, even above the angels! Not because we’ve earned it, but because Jesus has blazed the trail there and set us upon the road, to walk in his footsteps. His saving of us includes bringing us to this eternal glory. Not that the road there is easy, for it passes through suffering and death. But Jesus has shown that the destination is secure. Christians have everything to look forward to.
