James 1:16-21
James is teaching his Jewish Christian friends, now having to live far from home, how to handle their hard trials. They must not be deceived into sin but learn to cope in a godly way. They are the children of a heavenly Father who always intends their eternal good; they are the beginning of his plans for a new creation. So they must build on that steadfast hope and have a right attitude, rather than being blown around by their own feelings, which are causing arguments. Such anger doesn’t help and cannot save our lives. Only a life trusting Christ and following his way can do that.
