James 3:7-12
The ability to speak is a wonderful gift that God gave to us when he made us in his image. With this gift we do amazing things in life which bless us and others. However, sin has damaged this within us. And where sin is allowed to prosper in a soul, our words turn from being a blessing to a curse. Christians are to live deeply aware of this danger and, with the help of the Spirit, battle against it. Our hearts have been made new by Christ. We want our words to reflect that new heart, not our old ways. So we must battle for control our over tongue, that it would speak what glorifies the Lord.
