Jeremiah 1:1-16
Jeremiah comes from a disgraced line of priests who had once temporarily lost the ark of the covenant. But In Jeremiah’s time, Judah will lose the ark forever. This happens due God’s punishment of her sin through exile into the empires which are rising in a time of many international upheavals. Jeremiah is chosen by the Lord to prophesy of this important era of history. Yet, he feels he’s not up to the task. But the Lord assures him that He will empower His word.
