Mark wrote his gospel in the 1st century AD, probably based on his work assisting the apostle Peter. It reliably announces Jesus as God’s king to whom all must respond. It can be trusted to tell us the core of the gospel – the foundation which Jesus’ apostles built using exactly what he taught them. But it also comes with the power of the Holy Spirit to affect our hearts and minds, so we can gain eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.
